I woke up 43 today! 🥳

My teaching anniversary follows shortly after my birthday every year so it feels like the two are interwoven together.

When I think of ALL the ways my life is better because teaching found me at an early age, I am overcome with gratitude.

Thanks for being part of my past/present/future of this Legacy-rich profession I *love*. 🤍🥂🥳

It doesn’t matter what you know…

If the student in front of you isn’t guiding your decisions in the lesson, you’re missing the point.

In his (brilliant!) book, The Power of Play: Learning What Comes Naturally, David Elkind tells the story of two tennis teachers:

One, accomplished, who leads with an approach of “Just watch me and do what I do”

…and one who watches HIM: helping him place his feet, fix his shoulders, etc.

This is YET ANOTHER example of “Look at me” vs “Look at you” energy (which I talked about in Episode 207 of Beyond Measure).
