Before we were teachers of music, we were young people who loved making music.

…not because we HAD to, but because we LOVED to.

Some of you are already great at this… but many of us (🙋🏼‍♀️) have been so busy doing the studio work of teaching, we’ve forgotten the importance of playing *just because we can*.

Today we remind ourselves we have skillsets that MANY people envy… and we owe it to ourselves to enjoy them. 🥂

…a simple (too-often unspoken) truth:

Knowing and Doing are two different things.

It sounds obvious, but I think this distinction holds more power over our students than we give it credit for.

Knowing the thing is not the same as doing the thing.

Repeat it early and often! Hear more (including a tangent on why physical therapists are kindred spirits of piano teachers🤣) in Episode 233.
