Hello, my teacher friends and WELCOME to episode 204 of the Beyond Measure Podcast. Christina Whitlock here, your host and Anytime Piano Teacher Friend.
The last few episodes have all centered around our 21st Century Obsession with the Fast-Track, and today wrapping up that series with a spontaneous twist.
I’d fully planned on writing a different episode to share today, but through a series of random events, I ended up recording a conversation with the fabulous Nicola Cantan instead. After a few weeks of DEEP thinking and heavy writing, this felt like a breath of fresh air, and I think it serves as the perfect conclusion to this very important series here on Beyond Measure.
Nicola Cantan is the mastermind behind the Vibrant Music Teaching empire, as well as the Vivid Practice App. She has made a few appearances here on the Beyond Measure Podcast in the past. You can check out episodes 128 and 171 to hear more from her, or, again, check out vibrantmusicteaching.com for all the things.
Just a quick heads-up, you will be able to find the video of today’s conversation over on YouTube, so if you’d rather WATCH this conversation, head on over to the BeyondMeasurePodcast channel on YouTube. Be sure to subscribe as I am trying to drop some video content over there more frequently than before.
If today’s episode leaves you wanting more, the great news is: THERE’S MORE! You can catch the second half of our conversation in the Patreon Community. Simply join the “Learning Together” tier of the Patreon Community, which is priced at just $6/month at the time of this recording. You’ll get some candid insights from Nicola and I, you’ll help support this show… it’s a total win-win. Head to ChristinaWhitlock.com/community for all the details.
And now, let’s get on with the show!

Phew! That was about as good of a stopping point as any, but I promise you: there are some REALLY good conversations awaiting you in the Bonus Recording, available to Patreon members. Again, you can get access to the recording for $6 at the time of this recording, and you can cancel your membership at any time.
You’ll get access to the rest of today’s conversation, bonus conversations with ALL of my guests from our summer conversation series, as well as twenty three hours of recorded Teachers Teaching Teachers sessions. Friends, every single one of those videos is a gem. I’m so proud of them, and I know there’s something there for everyone.
I know I’ve run over my usual 20-minute time limit multiple times over the past few weeks, so we’ll skip our toast and Teacher Friend of the Week today. I’ll be back with a SOLID episode next week about getting your name out in your community , and, of course, with another allstart Teacher Friend of the Week. Thanks for joining Nicola and I today, friends! Onward and upward as we focus more on what matters.
