Today, I Confess: I Am Tired.
…but I *have* published 200 episodes of Beyond Measure! 😄
For a million different reasons, this week’s podcast episode took a REALLY long time to put together.
It’s left me with very little time or mental bandwidth to write much of a confession this week.
BUT HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS: I think Episode 200 will continue to serve as a great resource for anyone new to the podcast or looking to better-tailor their listening experience.
Have you listened yet?
Either way, I don’t want you to miss this compilation I’ve made of one sentence(ish) summaries of all 199 episodes. You can see the written summary by clicking here.
Here’s another confession: I really hope you will listen to Episode 200. ☺️
Do me a favor? Hit that COMMENT button below and tell me YOUR most memorable takeaway from Beyond Measure. Of course, I hope it’s something meaningful and not just the story about my middle school flute teacher and his vasectomy🫢… but I’d love to hear ANY takeaways you have. It would be an encouragement to this Anytime Piano Teacher Friend today. 💜
🥂 May we all remain mindful of the expectations we place upon ourselves (and others) as we seek the most from this life we’re given. 🥂

On the Podcast: As mentioned above, this week’s Super-Sized Episode (clocking in at 35 minutes) features an itty-bitty summary of EVERY episode of Beyond Measure. It was a bigger undertaking than I’d planned, but turned out to be a really fulfilling reflection for me! 😃 Other teachers appear to agree…
Must-Teach Music I’m trying to share recital favorites here these days since we’re on the brink of Performance Season and students often need good FLASHY repertoire. Lynda Lybeck-Robinson’s Williwaw is an engaging tour-de-force that is as much fun to play as it is to listen to. It is loved by students, parents, and audiences alike. AND! This one has a (single use) digital download so you can get it right now.
A Favorite Thing Not teaching-related AT ALL….but these LED candles are bringing me much joy in the midst of a bitter-cold winter. There’s a lot of chatter online about how burning candles can lift your spirits this time of year. I appreciate how these operate on a timer and I can stash them ALL over the house, without worrying about open flames.
Sports are NOT the Enemy: I had the GREAT pleasure of speaking with the Minnesota River Valley MTA this past week (hi, friends!👋). They requested my most-popular conference session: The Varsity Musician’s Playbook. If you’re interested in learning how you can leverage tactics used by Team Sports to build similar commitments in your studio, you can purchase a recording of this session for just $29.
