Well hello there, my teacher friends! Welcome to the Beyond Measure Podcast, with me: Christina Whitlock, your self-appointed Anytime Piano Teacher Friend.

I have an extra-special treat for you today!  Last December, I teamed up with my friend and fellow podcaster, Amy Chaplin, from Piano Pantry, for my quarterly reflection of What’s Working in this Season of Life. Well, Amy’s back today – but we thought we’d change things up and look at the flipside today. We’re each sharing three things NOT working in our current seasons of life.  On tomorrow’s episode of Piano Pantry – that will be episode 173 – you will hear Amy and I talk about things that ARE working in this season.

As always, I’m a big believer in naming the things that are both giving you life and draining it from you. There’s something about maintaining an ACTUAL LIST of these things, season to season, that will help you recognize patterns and hang-ups you might not otherwise see. I strongly recommend you take some time this week and name a handful of things that ARE working for you, as well as a handful of things that aren’t.

My conversation with Amy today spans the gamut from silly to serious. Amy is known for being the most organized teacher on the block and her first reflection today might really surprise you, and if you hang around until the end of today’s episode, you’ll hear what’s most on my heart these days.

So, without further delay, here’s my conversation with Amy Chaplin.

(Sorry; the Conversation Transcript is unavailable at this time.)

Thanks for hanging around for the end of our conversation today, friends!  In case you missed it, Amy mentioned her new revision of Christmas By Ear, which is this INCREDIBLE resource she’s put together to help your students better understand the process behind learning to play tunes by ear. It’s a BEAUTIFUL book, she’s poured untold hours of her life into it, and I am excited for you to get your hands on it. I’ve linked it in today’s shownotes, along with some other goodies worth checking out.

Don’t forget to listen to tomorrow’s episode of The Piano Pantry Podcast for more with Amy and I!

As always, my friends, onward and upward toward all that awaits you this week!
